Celebrate with the community at the annual Tree Lighting ceremony held at North School Park, Eastman and Arlington Heights Road, on Friday, November 29 starting at 4 p.m. Bring your families, friends, neighbors and holiday guests to this festive celebration!

Enjoy free rides on the Holly Trolleys from 4 – 7 p.m., sponsored by the Village’s Special Events Commission. The trolleys will pick-up and drop-off riders at North School Park and take them to the Historical Museum, Metropolis and Harmony Park, at Vail and Campbell, where they can watch demonstrations of ice carving and have a free holiday portrait taken by Bravo4studio from 4 – 7 p.m.

The traditional Tree Lighting ceremony in North School Park begins at 4:30 p.m. with the Arlington Heights Park District’s Vibe Dancers, followed by a 4:45 p.m. performance of the Dickens Carolers from John Hersey High School.

Following the carolers, Park District Board President Maryfran Leno and Arlington Heights Mayor Hayes will make a few brief comments and join in the countdown to "flip the switch" that magically activates the lights of the holiday tree in North School Park, the holiday displays, as well as the streetscape lights throughout the Downtown.

This year’s holiday tree sitting atop the fountain at North School Park is a Colorado Blue Spruce donated by the McCarter family on the 700 block of S. Walnut and was delivered and setup by the Village’s Public Works Department.

Enjoy strolling the park and taking pictures of the fun holiday displays set up by the Arlington Heights Park District, and don’t forget to hop on the Holly Trolley from 4 - 7 p.m. that will take you from North School Park to Harmony Park for even more entertainment! The tree in Harmony Park is also a Colorado Blue Spruce donated by the Balmer family of the 100 block of S. Dwyer.

After enjoying the activities in Harmony Park, the trolley heads back to North School Park where riders can make sure they did not miss any of the Park District’s lit displays that carry out a children's toy theme.
